Your next career opportunity

As an Executive Assistant/Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Department and Department staff within the School of Health Sciences. You will be at the forefront of administrative excellence, managing diverse tasks such as HR, finance, and event coordination, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Your dynamic approach and high-level organisational skills will ensure smooth departmental operations, contributing to the advancement of Nursing and Allied Health.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Administrative Support: Provide general support to Department staff, manage HR and finance tasks, liaise with the facilities team and coordinate department events.
  • Executive Support and Diary Management: Manage the Head of Department's diary, organise travel, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance Departmental Processes: Establish workflows, improve administrative processes, and support OH&S initiatives.

You may be a great fit if

You are an experienced administrative professional with exceptional organisational skills, ready to support a dynamic team in the School of Health Sciences, utilising your problem-solving abilities and collaborative approach.

You may also:

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic diary management systems.
  • Have a proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining confidentiality.

Established in 2009, the Melbourne School of Health Sciences is an inter-professional learning community at the forefront of leadership in health sciences education, research, scholarship, professional practice, workforce training and knowledge translation. Our collective focus is on improving health and well-being of people, locally and globally. Our diversity of disciplines and research expertise provides us with unique shared insights into health and wellbeing, impacting on both physical and mental health outcomes across people and their families. Our research has a strong focus on cross-cutting research themes including implementation science, health services research and clinical trial methodology resulting in the integration of findings into improved care of the communities that we serve as well as influencing health policy. The School comprises five departments across six disciplines, including Audiology and Speech Pathology, Nursing, Optometry and Vision Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Social Work.
