Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional writing or communications experience, with a strong background in writing for senior executives, government leaders, or CEOs.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with proven ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
- Proven discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated success in speech writing and narrative development for live and digital formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with higher education, public affairs, or mission-driven organizations.
- Strong understanding of presentation design and digital communication tools.
Job Description:
Develop marketing and communications strategy that drives increased awareness and engagement with internal and external audiences.
Job Duties:
- Strategic and Executive Communications - Research, write, and edit speeches, remarks, video scripts, op-eds, and correspondence for the President, Vice President, and senior leaders.
- Content Development and Editorial Support - Develop consistent messaging that reflects university priorities and mission; manage updates to executive web pages, bios, and statements; draft formal letters and digital communications.
- Issues and Reputation Management - Provide strategic counsel on tone, timing, and message discipline; support crisis communications planning and rapid response messaging.
- Collaboration and Institutional Engagement - Partner with departments to ensure message alignment; contribute to university-wide communication planning and strategic initiatives.
