Primary Responsibilities:
A. Strategic Leadership (15%)
- Lead cross‑functional planning with academic departments and operational units to scale high‑quality online programs.
- Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue models aligned with mission and workforce needs.
- Stay current with emerging AI developments and translate innovations into institutional practice.
B. Online Program Operations (60%)
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Manchester's online programs, ensuring a seamless student experience from inquiry to graduation.
- Coordinate digital learning operations with instructional designers, technologists, analytics teams, and external partners.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure excellence in online course design, delivery, and AI‑enhanced pedagogy.
- Partner with advising, student affairs, and success coaching teams to provide proactive student support.
- Work with registrar and financial aid to maintain compliant online calendars, workflows, and policies.
- Develop and manage budgets supporting online learning and digital innovation.
- Oversee LMS optimization, platform decisions, and integration of AI-powered tools.
C. AI Strategy & Governance (20%)
- Lead adoption of AI-enhanced instructional design, such as adaptive pathways and intelligent tutoring.
- Guide responsible use of generative AI for curriculum, assessment, and student support.
- Cultivate partnerships with ed‑tech, AI research groups, and corporate/community organizations.
- Represent Manchester's mission‑driven approach to digital learning and AI innovation.
D. Other Duties (5%)
- Serve on committees related to academic innovation, student success, accreditation, and strategic planning.
- Perform additional responsibilities aligned with the scope and seniority of the role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in education, instructional technology, business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of leadership in online education, digital learning, or ed‑tech-preferably in higher education.
- Demonstrated success launching, growing, or improving online programs.
- Interest in AI applications in education (e.g., generative AI, learning analytics).
- Strong understanding of accreditation, compliance, and accessibility standards.
- Proven collaboration with faculty and academic leadership in mission-driven settings.
- Executive‑level communication and change‑leadership strengths.
- Proficiency with tools such as Power BI/Tableau, LMS platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard), and SIS tools (e.g., Slate).
- Familiarity with quality assurance systems (e.g., Quality Matters).
