Join ImmunoConcept! This research unit in Immunology is affiliated with the National Center for Scientific Research, INSERM and the University of Bordeaux. Our research programs focus on the immune system in physiological and pathological situations. Our research is based on cross-disciplinary skills combining researchers in basic sciences and hospital practitioners. Composed of 4 teams with distinct and complementary specialties, the Unit is in full development.
As part of the EUSTAR project "EUropean Scleroderma Trial and Research", we are recruiting an Expert in statistical information W/M.
This project is an international scleroderma research network. Our mission is to coordinate and enhance research activities aimed at improving the treatment, quality of life, and prognosis for patients with scleroderma worldwide.
At the heart of our research efforts is a comprehensive multicenter online database/registry, which houses data from more than 23,000 scleroderma patients across 200+ international EUSTAR centers. Each patient’s annual medical visit is recorded, providing invaluable longitudinal observational data.
Main activities:
Your mission will be carried out in close collaboration with the EUSTAR scientific team, including members of the international committee. You will be integrated into a small "data and statistics" team composed of a data manager and a lead statistician. You will be attached to the statistician and the activities will be carried out in agreement with the EUSTAR committee and under its responsibility.
Your role will be to contribute to the design, implementation, interpretation and reporting of statistical analyses carried out within the EUSTAR register, in agreement with the EUSTAR committee and under its responsibility.
The position will support several clinical and epidemiological research projects based on data from the registry, including the main project on diffuse interstitial lung disease associated with systemic sclerosis (SSc-ILD), producing reproducible statistical analyses and clear results for scientific meetings, reports, abstracts, presentations, posters and peer-reviewed publications.
Statistical and methodological planning
- You develop and implement statistical analysis plans aligned with the scientific objectives of the EUSTAR projects
- You design and draft technical documents related to statistical activities, including analysis plans and statistical analysis reports
- You establish, update, organize and implement processes, procedures, protocols and instructions for the statistical analysis of EUSTAR register data
- You provide methodological support for observational research questions based on registry and longitudinal data
Data management, validation and statistical analysis
- You manage, prepare, clean, validate, and analyze data from the EUSTAR registry
- You carry out statistical analyses in accordance with the scientific objectives of EUSTAR and the requests of its committee
- Apply appropriate methods to register-based research, including regression models, repeated measures models, survival analysis, propensity scoring methods, marginal structural models, and, if necessary, the methods for managing missing data
- You contribute to the implementation of reproducible data pipelines, data extraction, transformation, and quality control, as well as the preparation of datasets for dashboards and reporting tools

Skills/Qualifications
Holder of a PhD and one year of post-doctoral experience or a master’s degree with 4 years of professional experience in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or related fields, you have a strong knowledge of statistics, biostatistics and epidemiological methods as well as a good understanding of medical concepts and clinical research, with the ability to work on clinical and biological data in collaboration with medical and scientific experts.
- You have experience in observational studies, register-based research and/or longitudinal data analysis
- You have experience in:
- the planning, conduct, and analysis of non-interventional studies
- working with registry data, longitudinal datasets or data from multicentre clinical research
- planning and carrying out advanced statistical analyses, including the interpretation and presentation of results
- participation in analyses as part of multicentre clinical studies or studies involving several partners would be an asset
- You demonstrate the ability to apply, or become rapidly familiar with, advanced statistical methods relevant for observational studies and register-based research, including propensity scoring methods, multivariate logistic regression, Mixed models for repeated measurements, survival analysis, marginal structural models and methods for managing missing data
- You are able to analyze, synthesize and clearly communicate complex statistical results to scientific and clinical collaborators
- Software and/or tools required: very good command of R, basic command of at least one other programming language or statistical software, such as Python, Java, C, C++, SAS or SPSS.
- Experience working with databases, including SQL queries, data extraction, data transformation and quality control.
- You are motivated, autonomous, and able to take initiative
- You know how to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and international team.
- You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several analyses or projects in parallel
- You demonstrate rigor, precision, and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Faculties working on a multi-stakeholder, multidisciplinary project to define, discuss, and implement statistical procedures and analysis workflows
