Extension Agent, Ag - Livestock and Forages (Assistant, Associate, Full Agent)

The position may be hired at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Agent level if the selected candidate meets the required qualifications.
Primary Purpose of Position: The agent in this position will have educational responsibilities in all phases of livestock, equine, and forages. This individual will also provide pesticide education. The successful candidate must be able to conduct educational programs that focus on the profitability and sustainability of North Carolina livestock, equine, forages, and pesticide education, utilizing best practices based on research to include the adoption of proven technology, business, and financial practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: This position provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an effective educational program to meet the needs of Ashe County in the areas of livestock, equine, forages, and pesticide education.
Other Work/Responsibilities
The agent will be expected to develop and market educational programs with measurable impacts and to collaborate with other agencies, groups, and organizations in order to more effectively reach intended audiences throughout the county.
