We are looking for an external member for the Examination Committee of the Bachelor's program in Biomedical Sciences (BMW) and the Master's program in Biomedical Sciences (BMS). Are you an expert in assessment, quality assurance, and/or educational law, and do you enjoy contributing independently to the quality of academic education? Then we would like to get to know you!

As an external member, you provide an independent contribution to the decision-making of the examination committee BMW/BMS. You critically review the assessment policy, assessment program, processes, procedures, and cases. Additionally, you advise on quality assurance and the legal frameworks of assessment and examination. With your experience and expertise, you offer a valuable addition to the internal committee members.

Requirements: For the examination committee BMW/BMS, we are looking for an external member who provides an independent and expert contribution to the decision-making within the committee. You work outside Radboudumc and have not been involved in the past with programs from the Medical Faculty in Nijmegen. You think analytically, carefully, and constructively about assessment, examination, and quality assurance. You are able to work collaboratively and in good partnership with the other committee members and the administrative secretary(ies). You have a good sense of relationships and handle various interests carefully and respectfully. You communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and are a full discussion partner within the committee.

Additionally, you have: A policy and/or legal background in higher education; Demonstrable experience with examination committees in higher education; Thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations in higher education and the legal frameworks of examination committees; Experience with quality assurance and developing processes and procedures; Assessment expertise and experience with assessment programs and procedures; Insight into the tasks and responsibilities of examination committees; Affinity with academic education and student development.

Employment conditions: Fixed-term appointment as laid down in the statutes of the examination committee. There is a standard compensation available for the hours spent on the role of external member of the examination committee, amounting to €1,910 annually. The time commitment is approximately half a day per week.

Employer: Radboudumc. Every program within the Faculty of Medical Sciences has an examination committee. The examination committee objectively and expertly determines whether a student meets the conditions set by the teaching and examination regulations regarding the knowledge, insight, and skills necessary for obtaining a degree. The examination committee performs its legal task from an independent position. The examination committee BMW/BMS consists of nine members, including the chair and an administrative secretary from Radboudumc Health Academy. Additionally, an external member is part of the examination committee BMW/BMS. The examination committee BMW/BMS meets nine times a year for two hours and is involved in the awarding of bachelor's and master's degrees. The examination committee is responsible for ensuring the quality and independence of the examination and examination process. It fulfills this responsibility by: Overseeing the quality and level of exams and assessments, as well as the results and grading standards; Establishing guidelines and providing instructions within the framework of the teaching and examination regulations to assess and determine the results of exams; Overseeing the quality of assessments and assessment regulations. The examination committee handles and discusses: Individual circumstances that warrant deviations from standard rules; Requests for exemptions and proposals for adapted learning paths; (Suspected) fraudulent behavior by students and imposing appropriate sanctions; Complaints about the content of exams, the circumstances under which exams were taken, or the results thereof.
