Facilities Maintenance Technician
Essential Job Duties
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and performing preventive upkeep on all fitness equipment, as well as supporting the general day-to-day maintenance of Wellness and Recreation facilities.
The Wellness and Recreation Center + Carmichael Gym is a 430,000-square-foot facility featuring 11 indoor basketball/multipurpose courts, more than 50,000-square-feet of strength training, cardio, and functional training fitness equipment, Casey Aquatic Center, fitness studios, climbing center, racquetball courts, boxing room, indoor track, locker rooms, teaching kitchen, steam room, sauna, active study space, and social lounges. Outdoor facilities include more than 15 acres of outdoor fields, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, and an outdoor functional training area.
This role requires a proactive approach to inspections, efficient management of the internal work order system, meticulous record-keeping, and strict adherence to safety, health, and manufacturer guidelines.

Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of Manufacturer-Specific Diagnostic Procedures: Specific knowledge or certifications (e.g., from Precor, Life Fitness, TechnoGym, Matrix) demonstrating an understanding of proprietary diagnostic codes, service modes, and specialized repair sequences unique to major commercial fitness equipment brands.
Knowledge of Regulatory Documentation for Liability: Understanding of best practices in documentation related to liability and risk management for public-use equipment, including tracking maintenance intervals based on equipment usage (cycle counts or hours) and reporting critical safety failures to management and manufacturers.
