Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the university by providing high-quality services to students and other members of the university community. R&DE has an annual operating budget of $400M, operates 24/7/365, and oversees a $3B asset portfolio comprising over 7 million square feet--one-third of the campus footprint. R&DE provides housing for 16,000 students and dependents, serves 8 million meals annually at 48 student dining venues and 32 culinary enterprises. In addition, R&DE provides executive services, conference operations, and guest lodging. R&DE is a talented and diverse team of 1,200+ who comprise the following divisions: Student Housing Operations & Stanford Conferences; Stanford Dining and Hospitality & Auxiliaries; Maintenance Operations and Capital Projects; and a team of R&DE strategic business partners--Finance & Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications and Marketing.

This role is designated as essential and requires incumbents to report to work onsite. Telecommuting is not available for this role.
JOB PURPOSE:
Oversee and manage assigned staff engaged in facilities management or building/equipment maintenance.
CORE DUTIES:
- Coordinate daily activities of R&DE Student Housing Operations (SHO) Linen program, including scheduling and assigning work to seasonal staff and directing and leading workers in completing assigned work; monitoring work and project activity progress, making necessary changes; completing performance evaluations of assigned staff; performing quality assurance checks, and coordinating health and safety programs and training.
- Manage linen inventory, including life cycle replacement, linen cleaning activities and storage.
- Coordinate and manage activities for Student Housing Operation Managers/Supervisors and Stanford Conferences requesting linen services, including providing resources documents for process, tracking orders, managing deliveries, and creating and publishing reports for SHO senior leaders on linen services.
- Coordinate SHO peak operations logistics including partnering with R&DE Human Resources and R&DE Finance to collect and track temporary labor projections; consolidating SHO order with R&DE Vendor Management for June closing activities; management of closing resources for SHO team.
- Coordinate and participate in seasonal inspection support programs, including recruiting for and training Housing Helper volunteers.
- Assist with the management of, and fiscal responsibility for, budget for area of responsibility, and provide time and workforce needs and estimates to higher level management based on cost analyses, ensuring work is completed according to stipulated price and agreement.
- Coordinate activities for SHO custodial uniform and prescription safety glasses programs. Includes tracking orders, reconciling invoices, creating and publishing matrices of team orders, creating and publishing resource documents for SHO managers and supervisors for the custodial uniform and prescription safety glasses programs.
- Implement, interpret, and manage policies and procedures pertaining to operations and facilities management.
- Manage service contracts as applicable.
- Coordinate activities, construction, and renovation with Stanford staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors. Support assigned project activities; ensure compliance with larger unit goals.
- Provide oversight and administration of the R&DE Student Housing Operations Lost and Found Program
- Serve as central point-of-contact for the bike abatement program near student residences.
Additional Core Duties of Custodial and Facilities Operations Program Manager:
- Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with the field and implement best practices.
- Work with, at times lead, R&DE Student Housing programs and initiatives.
- Cover and support campus colleagues as needed for back-up facility coverage.
- Indirectly, sometimes directly, supervise bargaining unit and temporary staff.
- This position may serve on the rotation as an after-hours Duty Supervisor
- Serve in the primary back-up role for the Assistant Director, Custodial and Facilities Operations.
- May serve as the Supervisor/Manager on-site presence during an emergency.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
A combination of education, training and experience performing responsibilities similar to those listed above.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to coordinate daily activities including work scheduling, quality assurance, program validation, monitoring of maintenance activities, and supervision of personnel.
- Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors/vendors and demonstrated ability to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with internal/external regulations.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting policies.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate those instructions to others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 11-20 pounds.
Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.
May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.
May working at heights 4 - 10 ft.

The expected pay range for this position is $96,000 to $105,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs
