Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Faculty Business Development Manager to join QUT Graduate School of Business, Faculty of Business and Law.

The Business Development Manager will provide strategic leadership in identifying and developing new markets, partnerships and growth opportunities across the Faculty of Business and Law’s graduate programs, executive education and custom client programs. Working at the intersection of strategy, market intelligence, industry engagement and education, the position will translate emerging market and workforce needs into opportunities that strengthen the Faculty’s portfolio, deepen industry and government relationships, and delivery sustainable growth and real-world impact. The role will proactively identify and shape opportunities and provide strategic advice on where the Faculty should focus its business development efforts and how it can best position its offerings in a competitive tertiary education environment.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications in a business related discipline or related area in conjunction with extensive relevant experience in commercial and/or Government related environment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, build and maintain effective relationships across staff, colleagues, networks and other external bodies to achieve business outcomes.
  3. Proven success in new business and partnership development, with a strong track record of building and managing sales pipelines, generating leads and closing deals with senior executive to exceed growth targets and deliver against agreed outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated success leading a significant business development function, including accountability for commercial outcomes, strategic partnerships and revenue growth.
  5. Demonstrated ability to drive client success through innovative partnership strategies and co-created solutions.
  6. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to produce high level documentation for executive level stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
