Faculty - Electronics Engineering Technology
Position Summary: Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a full-time Electronic Engineering Technology Instructor to provide high-quality instruction that meets the occupational and general education needs of students in the Electronics Engineering Technology program. Areas of instruction include electronics engineering, basic electricity, solid-state fundamentals, digital concepts, microprocessors or programmable logic controllers, process control, systems development, and related topics. Courses are taught on site and may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend, and offered in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.Responsibilities include preparing and teaching assigned courses in a professional manner, following approved course syllabi, grading standards, attendance requirements, and curriculum guidelines. The faculty member may assist with instruction in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and other Engineering programs at both the Cabarrus County and Rowan County campuses. Additional duties include mentoring adjunct faculty, supporting distance learning where practical, and contributing to the continued growth and quality of engineering programs. This is a 9-month, full-time position evaluated after each academic year.
Required Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in industry/teaching.
Duty and Responsibility:
- Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content in order to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
- Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
- Update, communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
- Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.
- Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes but is not limited to the College’s learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.
- Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
- When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
- Support student mentoring, advising, registration and recruitment efforts, as appropriate or required.
- Participate in professional development opportunities (selected or assigned) in order to enhance and apply knowledge/skills within the discipline, to effectively utilize required course technology and College applications, and to maintain licensures (as applicable).
- Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.
- Participate in College meetings, events, and committees as appropriate or required.
- Attend and participate in the annual graduation ceremony.
