Faculty Health & Safety Advisor

Working 14 hours per week as part of Vice Chancellors Office, you will implement of the Universities Health and Safety Strategy and Plan within the Greenwich Business School (GBS), helping the Faculty Operating Officer to discharge their management duties and ensuring a safe working environment which maintains the health and wellbeing of the faculty's staff, students, contractors and visitors.

The successful candidate will be part of a small but high performing team, providing competent advice on operational health and safety matters, reviewing related risk assessments / codes of practice, conducting investigations into significant incidents, ensuring all local H&S post holders complete relevant training to enable them to complete their tasks, and maintaining associated local records.

This is a highly collaborative and visible role, providing an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter to help the University meet and surpass its statutory obligations and encourage a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the Faculty.

To be successful you will have a broad understanding of workplace Health and Safety, including knowledge of the UK legislation and enforcement system. You will hold a relevant recognised Health and Safety qualification, to the minimum standard of NEBOSH General Certificate / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, and be able to provide a proactive and collaborative approach to all Health and Safety matters.
