Offer Description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Creative Informatics Course in the Department of Science and Engineering aims to cultivate human resources capable of gaining a comprehensive understanding of the field of informatics by studying computer science, design engineering, and related areas, and by developing both a deep knowledge of information technologies and the design skills grounded in them. Due to the planned increase in student enrollment under the initiative to strengthen the education of information-related human resources, additional faculty members are required to cover the fields of information design, XR technologies, information visualization, and other areas related to spatial information processing.
Furthermore, both the Design and Media Engineering Course in the Graduate Program in Science and Engineering and the Design and Media Engineering Major in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering seek to further enhance education and research in the aforementioned fields and to strengthen their organizational structure. For these reasons, it is essential to appoint a faculty member who can actively promote education and research in these areas.

Contract period description:Please note that an interim evaluation will be conducted by the day at which point three years will have passed from the date of employment, and a tenure review will be conducted by six months prior to the expiration date of the tenure-track faculty member's term. Tenure (associate professor, without tenure) will be granted if target values required for granting tenure have been met during the term.
In the case of a particularly outstanding evaluation in the interim evaluation, the eligibility for granting tenure may be discussed at that time.
