The Wistar Institute is seeking outstanding candidates for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Professor level in the Wistar Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center. Exceptional senior researchers at the full professor level may also be considered. Areas of particularly high interest include a focus on research using novel tools and approaches for target identification/validation, computational AI protein design, pathogenesis, approaches in novel animal models, in vivo screening systems, gene-editing, single cell as well as genome based immune profiling approaches, vaccines, and molecular tools for development of immunotherapies for difficult diseases

Applicants who have established strong publication track records and a trajectory toward or established independent research supported by extramural funding are of high priority. The successful candidates will be expected to pursue extramurally-funded competitive research programs with a primary focus on basic and/or translational studies in the context of infectious diseases, including AMR, and emerging/chronic infections as well as cancer immunotherapy approaches.

The Institute offers a state-of-the-art vivarium and access to outstanding core facilities in proteomics and metabolomics, genomics, microscopy, high-throughput molecular screening, spatial transcriptomics, medicinal chemistry, bioinformatics, and flow cytometry, humanized mouse models, among others. The Institute’s location adjacent to the campuses of the University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Drexel University, provides for a wonderful work and living environment for vigorous academic and clinical collaborations. Wistar is a very attractive destination for training opportunities for undergraduate, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
