The Department of Medical Education at the Quillen College of Medicine of East Tennessee State University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor rank, non-tenure track faculty position in the area of Microbiology and/or Immunology Education. Exceptional applicants may be considered for a convertible- or tenure-track position. We seek candidates with broad training in Microbiology and Immunology and demonstrate ability for excellent teaching, as responsibilities will include teaching Microbiology and Immunology to medical and graduate students and management of the Microbiology and Immunology discipline thread across Quillen’s organ systems-based curriculum. Preference will be given to those candidates with expertise in interactive learning pedagogies, knowledge of medical school accreditation standards, and educational scholarship.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Successful candidates must present evidence of an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, effective Microbiology and Immunology teaching, and a commitment to work productively with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines. Evidence for realized and/or potential of productive scholarly and creative activity is also desired. Ability to contribute to teaching other disciplines is an asset. The ability to teach medical and graduate students from all backgrounds.
