Federal Work Study - Student Solutions Leader

Job Summary

The Federal Work Study Student Leader provides essential support to multiple areas of the Student Solutions department that includes document imaging, customer service, front desk operations, call center assistance, and assistance with departmental projects. This position is ideal for a student who is passionate about the University of West Georgia, thrives in a dynamic environment, and enjoys being part of a student-centered team. Duties include:

  • As needed, scan, upload, and organize student records using Xtender and related platforms
  • As needed, assist with records retention requirements for student record documents and file maintenance
  • Answer incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner
  • Route calls appropriately and provide accurate information
  • Greet and assist guests at the front desk
  • Help manage traffic flow and student lines during peak times
  • Stock and maintain cleanliness of the student lounge area
  • Support event prep including all-staff meetings, outreach tabling, and department-wide initiatives
  • Help assemble materials, supplies, and logistics for scheduled events
  • Learn and utilize institutional platforms required for customer service support, processing tasks, or documenting student interactions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or director

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge (MS365).
  • Flexible & Adaptable: Can shift tasks and adjust to daily changes with ease and quick learner.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in data entry and documentation and organization.
  • Dependable: Values punctuality and takes ownership of assigned work and demonstrates dependability by honoring commitments and meeting deadlines.
  • Team-Oriented: Enjoys working with others and supporting a positive environment and enthusiastic; self-starter.
  • Passionate about UWG: Demonstrates pride in being a part of the West Georgia community and supports the success of fellow students.
