About the role

As Finance Assistant (Purchasing) for the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM), you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations within the Institute. As a core member of our friendly team of Finance professionals, you will be responsible for ensuring financial transactions are processed and recorded accurately, and provide a comprehensive purchasing service to University administered research groups and core staff within the Institute.

In this dynamic and pivotal role you will hold general responsibilities, including accurately processing and recording routine financial transactions in accordance with University financial regulations, policies, and procedures. Additional purchasing responsibilities will include ensuring that purchase requisitions are completed, accurate, and processed promptly. You will ensure swift resolution of queries and potential procurement issues that may arise from both suppliers and users.

About you

You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), and hold some relevant experience in financial administration. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are also essential. Experience using Oracle Financials and holding AAT qualification will be an advantage.
