Financial Aid Specialist - PT Temporary
Job Summary
The Financial Aid Specialist - PT Temporary is responsible for performing professional and administrative duties associated with the delivery of student financial aid services. The specialist works in the Financial Aid Services office playing a pivotal role in the financial aid process by supporting students and their families throughout their financial aid journey. Works with the Customer Service team to ensure that students visiting the Grizzly Welcome Center are assisted in a timely manner. This position participates in planning meetings held by the Customer Service team and assists in the Grizzly Orientation process.
This position is a temporary position not to exceed six months of employment with expected work hours of 19 per week. This position has an expected duration of ten weeks.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing accurate and timely information regarding various financial aid programs, assisting and collaborating with students and their families in completing application forms to ensure seamless processing of financial aid applications.
- Provides comprehensive financial aid counseling to students and their families, addressing inquiries related to eligibility requirements, application procedures, available funding options and other pertinent issues.
- Conveys information relating to federal, state, and institutional aid regulatory program requirements through virtual and face-to-face appointments
- Provides customer service to students and parents, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner. Serves as a resource for financial aid information during orientations, workshops, and other campus events.
- Provides input and guidance to the Enrollment Management leadership team regarding enrollment related programs, processes, and partnerships with Georgia high schools.
- Participates in weekly Customer Service team meetings providing suggestions and feedback to ensure student contacts are effective and contain necessary information.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Guidance and counseling or an education related field
- Experience as a guidance counselor at a Georgia high school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- Knowledge of federal financial aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., Title IV, FAFSA) desirable.
Proposed Salary
$25/hour
Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and student information systems (e.g., Banner).
