Fiscal Specialist 1
Gift Accounting at Washington State University Foundation invites you to apply for our Fiscal Specialist 1 position. In this role, you will perform complex and unique duties, handling a variety of financial transactions for different gift types, ensuring accuracy and adherence to critical timelines. You will act as a representative and expert resource for co-workers, development staff, donors, companies, outside charities, and financial management firms, providing guidance on financial gift policies, processes, and procedures. Maintaining confidentiality is crucial, as you will need to keep accurate gift records and files.
Collaboration is also key, as you will work with colleagues and external entities to answer questions and provide solutions, as well as offer backup support to co-workers and supervisors as needed. You will update biographical data related to gifts and pledges in accordance with policies and department specifications, and facilitate gift, pledge, and matching gift modifications, and support your supervisor with adjustments. Additionally, you will manage financial processes, including batch processing, cash handling procedures, cash deposits, and batch verification processes, ensuring donor receipts and acknowledgment information are accurate.
Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We encourage you to apply and join our team at Washington State University Foundation.
Required Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work the schedule of an essential staff member, which will include working the week between December 25th and January 1st.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six (6) months - one (1) year of full-time experience working in a higher education, fundraising, processing role; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Cash handling experience.
- Experience working with alumni/donor records.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime-eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,581 to $4,771.
