Job Description
Bemidji State University (BSU) invites qualified applicants to join our team as a Fixed-Term Assistant or Associate Professor of Business Administration and Financial Planning / Finance. This position is primarily teaching-focused with expectations for student engagement and reasonable expectations for scholarly/professional activity.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing leadership and development of Financial Planning Program at BSU including supporting efforts to advance the program toward CFP Board Registered status.
- Development of internship program with corporate donors and other finance professionals for financial planning students.
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Financial Planning and Corporate Finance. The incumbent will teach undergraduate courses including, but not limited to, Financial Management, Real Estate, Risk Management and Insurance, Behavioral Investing and Portfolio Management.
- Contributing to a program of scholarship within the discipline, advising students, serving the University and community, and other associated faculty duties.
- Designing and delivering courses for on-campus and online delivery, as needed.
- Advising and supporting students' academic progress.
- Contributing to a collegial and supportive environment that advances the goals of the department, including curriculum development, assessment, and other departmental governance activities.
- Contributing to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support BSU's Shared Fundamental Values.
- Assisting with programmatic accreditation.
