College of Marin seeks a part-time French instructor to teach the following courses for the fall 2026 semester on the Kentfield campus.

FREN 203 – Intermediate French III
4.0 units. (Prerequisite: FREN 102.) Review and expansion of grammatical concepts with continued emphasis on verbal communication. Introduction to literary and journalistic readings for vocabulary and idiom expansion as well as cultural enrichment.
Dates: August to December 2026 (Finals Week 12/14 – 12/18/26)
Days/Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:10 – 8:00 pm
FREN 204 – Intermediate French IV
4.0 units. (Prerequisite: FREN 203.) A further study of the French language with a review of the grammar and extensive readings from the literature and press with emphasis on verbal communication. An exploration of the use of French and the impact of French culture outside of France.
Dates: August to December 2026 (Finals Week 5/18 – 5/22/26)
Days/Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:10 – 8:00 pm
REQUIREMENTS
- A Master's degree in French; or
- A Bachelor's degree in French AND a Master's degree in another language or Linguistics; or
- The equivalent; and
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.

SALARY INFORMATION
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $90,657 - $124,850* (see below for part-time instruction breakdown)
*Salaries for part-time instructors are based on the number of units taught and are paid at 95% of the Full-time Faculty Salary Schedule. New part-time instructors will be placed between Step 1, Column 1, and Step 9, Column 5 of the salary schedule, depending on verified background and experience. Salary placement is non-negotiable.
