Recruitment Range: $40,500 - $45,000
The salary range advertised is the designated recruitment range for this classification. Final salary offers will be determined by the candidate’s education, relevant experience, internal equity alignment, and departmental budgetary parameters.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Office of the Registrar supports UNCW's mission by providing academic support services, including student services and academic records management; degree and diploma processing; student academic information systems management; administration of regulations and policies of the Faculty Senate, academic eligibility of athletes and, as prescribed in the policies of the university and the Code of the University of North Carolina, maintenance of archives; and system-wide reporting (in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research) of enrollment, courses, and degrees awarded.
The Office of the Registrar:
Maintains the academic record of each student who enrolls at the university; Provides information about registration, academic records, residence status, and degrees while protecting the privacy of the individual; Uses the latest technology and procedures that will enhance student, administrative, and faculty services while ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and security of academic records and information; Provides leadership and assistance in the development and modification of policies, procedures, and systems.
Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The Front Desk Office Manager performs office administrative duties such as maintaining inventory of supplies and forms, assisting with travel arrangements for staff, tracking all expenditures, payment of institutional dues, managing personnel actions including new hire processes, organizing office events, and assisting with processing subpoenas for information and testimony in collaboration with the University Legal Counsel.
This position updates the office website and calendars to reflect changes in policy, regulation, instruction, and information and serves as the primary requisition contact for the office.
The Front Desk Office Manager will serve in conjunction with the other Front Office Liaison as the initial point of contact for the public via telephone, in person, mail, and the Registrar's email. Adhering to The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), this position provides information about registration, records, and University policies and procedures, verifies enrollment and graduation, resolves transcript issues, and utilizes Banner and routing questions to appropriate staff or supervisors as needed. In conjunction with the other Front Office Liaison, the Coordinator assists with data entry of complex, confidential, and precise elements via Banner in support of various sections of the office. The Front Office Desk Manager will serve as backup to transcript evaluation/articulation as time permits.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- One year experience in higher education.
- One year experience with a student information management system.
- Knowledge of Banner preferred.
