Job Description
The Office of Student Engagement and Campus Center is seeking a student for employment. This position is funded by the University. All Undergraduate students looking for employment are welcome to apply.
The Campus Center, housed within Hammond Hall, offers itself as a place where students can spend time socializing and expanding themselves outside the classroom. Event Support Services (ESS) is a group of the Campus Center Staff that offer an array of event and hospitality services for events, programs and other functions within Hammond Hall. Staff will rotate through various job assignments such as arranging room and event set-ups, providing AV and technical assistance at events, and serving beverages and maintaining security during events where alcohol is being provided.
Requirements
General Requirements:
- Assist with the operation of the Hammond Hall
- Provide friendly quality customer service to patrons
- Must keep closet spaces organized
- Must be able to work well in both an independent and team setting
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
ESS Requirements:
- Be familiar with Event Management System (EMS) to check reservation setups
- Must be able to lift tables, chairs and staging of various weights
- Set meeting and event spaces based on reservation request details
- Will have knowledge of audio and visual setups to assist with event tech support
- Oversee events and assist event coordinator with their various needs
- Work nights and weekends to ensure all Campus Center event spaces are ready for the next program
Employees should expect to work at least 4 to 10, but no more than 20 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.
