Description

The responsibilities of this position primarily consist of teaching Math courses on the Harrison and Mount Pleasant campuses, and occasionally in local high schools. This position holds accountability for instruction, curricular development, student assessment, and evaluation of a diverse student population. Curricular responsibilities include serving as Lead Faculty for courses to be determined in consultation with the Dean and full-time Math faculty. Service responsibilities include serving on at least one faculty committee.
Salary will commensurate upon the guidelines provided in Appendix C related to the person's appropriate Salary Grade per Appendix D.

Examples of Duties
- Develops and updates course syllabi.
- Teaches assigned course content utilizing a variety of presentation methods.
- Observes and assesses student learning competencies providing timely feedback to students.
- Schedules office hours for assisting students.
- Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, including posting students' grades and attendance in Self-service and Moodle.
- Communicates student assessment results to department faculty and administrators.
- Participates in professional development opportunities, particularly to maintain current professional expertise in psychology and sociology.
- Serves on shared governance and program related committees.
- Adheres to divisional objectives, policies, procedures. Recommends changes to procedures as necessary to improve the efficacy of the program.
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies and procedures, and compliance guidelines.
- Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Master's degree, or higher, in Mathematics or Statistics is required.
Experience:
- Two years of teaching experience preferred; ideally at the community college level.
