Full Time Faculty Nurse Anesthesia Program (DNP) – School of Nursing
The Duquesne University School of Nursing (SON) is a nationally recognized pioneer in nursing education. Our nursing faculty are dedicated to creating an educational environment grounded in the practice of ethical, holistic, and culturally competent care for vulnerable populations.
The School of Nursing (SON) is currently seeking a 12-month clinically-current nurse anesthesia faculty member, non-tenure track, clinical assistant or associate professor position, grounded in the doctoral-level nurse anesthesia program. The faculty member will work directly with the CRNA Program and Assistant Program Directors, complete some administrative requirements that include (but not limited to) student clinical and DNP project supervision, interacting with clinical partners, evaluation and accreditation activities, and other related duties as assigned. The faculty member will teach key CRNA didactic content along with oversight and participation in CRNA student DNP projects. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to teach across various graduate levels beginning in the fall of 2025.
Required Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in Nursing (DNP, DNAP or PhD)
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse
- Current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- Clinical expertise in CRNA clinical role
- Experience in nursing lending itself to Doctor of Nursing Practice course and project work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to the candidate with successful teaching experience at the university or college level – to include online instruction
- Demonstrated commitment to the profession as evidenced in record of professional leadership, public service, or scholarship
- Experience in organizational leadership, quality improvement, and quality initiatives
Alternately, the applicants may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
