10-Month Tenure Track Position
COMPENSATION: Initial salary placement ranges from $67,886 to $106,308 based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $142,425.

Representative Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintaining Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications: ASE Automotive Master Certification, G-1 -Maintenance & Light Repair, L-1 -Advanced Engine Performance Specialist
- Instructing students in automotive technology in one or more of the following areas: engine overhaul, drive train and fuel system repair, brakes, wheel alignments, air conditioning and suspension, tune-up pollution control, automotive computers, automotive electronics, and automotive electrical systems.
- Participating in assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes, Program Review, Curriculum Development
- Teach in accordance with departmental course outlines and design instructional activities to promote student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues in program and curriculum development and participate in other departmental meetings and projects.
- Promote the success of a diverse student population through careful preparation of course materials and effective teaching methodologies.
- Comply with district policies and procedures in the performance of all duties by timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities including holding weekly office hours and being available to assist students as required.
- Serve on academic senate and participatory governance committees as necessary to support and enrich instructional programs.
- Participate in assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience. Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess and have a current ASE (Automotive Master Certification), Must possess a current G-1 - Maintenance & Light Repair, L-1 -Advanced Engine Performance Specialist
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications: L-2 - Electronic Diesel Engine Specialist, L-3 - Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist, L-4 - Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Specialist
Knowledge and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of automotive machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology. Knowledge of developing course syllabi. Knowledge of fostering inclusive environments for student learning. Knowledge of integrating accessible practices into course design and teaching strategies. Knowledge and ability to teach and support students across multiple modalities including, online, hybrid, remote, HyFlex, and correspondence while maintaining engagement and accessibility. Knowledge and ability to maintain compliance with all third-party accrediting bodies by keeping required credentials, certifications, and regulatory standards current when applicable.
ABILITIES: Ability to obtain other certifications, and or licenses necessary to instruct specific courses. Ability to teach in a clear, organized, and informative manner. Ability to demonstrate helpfulness to students with questions or concerns. Ability to work effectively in person through clear communication, collaboration, and adaptability in diverse professional settings. Demonstrated ability to remain current in one's discipline through ongoing professional development, research, and engagement with emerging trends and best practices. Ability to use advanced technology in the classroom. Ability to interact with others (faculty, staff, students, administration).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Office, classroom, lab and/or on-line environment. Position requires ability to communicate and exchange information. The assignment may include day, weekend, and/or evening classes on campus and/or at off campus locations. Position requires ability and schedule flexibility to accommodate active participation in College and Department Outreach Events such as College and Career Fairs and College and Community Presentations.
