FUSE Student Researcher - Biology (Part-time Temporary / Summer 2026)
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a FUSE Student Researcher in Biology on the Gainesville campus. The student researcher(s) will participate in a study examining the ecology of butterfly caterpillars, including preparing field experiments, data collection, data analysis, and presentation. The research assistant will join the FUSE program to conduct focused and meaningful research, scholarly and creative activities alongside a faculty researcher from June 1 - July 24, 2026. This includes in-person workshops and group meetings once a week for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities
- Rearing butterflies, including their caterpillar larvae, in a lab.
- Growing plants in a greenhouse.
- Maintaining potted plants and caterpillars at a garden site.
- Collecting, weighing, and dissecting caterpillars.
- Insect preservation.
- Data entry and analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
Required Qualifications
- Current UNG student not graduating before December 2026.
- Completed one Biology course.
- Driver's license.
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
