This position will remain open until filled or at the discretion of Great Bay Community College.
CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.

General Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), assists in the daily administration of academic programs and services; participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of academic and student programs, policies and services; and in the development and implementation of campus strategic objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for educational effectiveness, evaluation and systematic assessment of academic offerings, student learning, and the student experience; (new: included academic and student services and business areas)
  • Assists in the day-to-day college operations, including strategic planning, fiscal management, resource development, policy setting, employee/labor relations, and handling student matters
  • Provides direct oversight of the Director and academic staff for The Center for Academic Planning and Support and the Director and staff and the Registrars Office.
  • Oversees all operations of Academic and Student Affairs, in the absence of the VPAA and VPSSEM.
  • Working directly with Academic Department Chairs/Program Coordinators, provides oversight of the development and analysis of the academic course schedules.
  • Works collaboratively with Student Services staff on all matters of student onboarding, persistence, retention, and completion connected to guided pathways efforts; full-time enrollment; and co-requisite developmental education.
  • Manages the Perkins Program Improvement grant and explores/manages other grant opportunities related to academic and student affairs as appropriate.
  • Assists in the development and administration of professional development/training sessions for Faculty and Staff on best practices, protocols and available tools and resources.
  • Serves as a member on appropriate College and CCSNH committees
  • Performs administrative duties associated with, maintaining a safe work environment, training employees, employee professional development, and orientations for staff, communicating job expectations; monitoring and appraising job performance; and managing employee time and attendance in accordance with CCSNH and College policies and procedures, the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, and state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational and technology workshops, participating in professional associations, and attending relevant internal and external meetings and seminars.
  • Complies with all system, college, campus, state and federal rules and regulations;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree from a recognized college or university in education, higher education administration, business administration, organizational and/or educational leadership, or related field.

Experience: Six years of experience in academic affairs, academic or career advising, student services/affairs working with student organizations and programs, or related experience within higher education, including four years of supervisory experience.

License/Certifications: Valid Drivers License or access to statewide transportation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Administrative experience in higher education.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and as a project leader and foster an environment of teamwork.
  • Knowledge of the principles of supervision, administration, systems management and community organization as applicable to specialized program area.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships and to effectively communicate with diverse student populations and multiple constituents.
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation/assessment.
  • Effective project management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, personnel evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Fluency with learning management systems such as Canvas and EAB Navigate and with Oracle-based administrative software systems, such as Banner.
  • Experience in adjudicating cases of violations of the Student Code of Conduct and/or of academic misconduct.
  • Experience with student development programming and support services and administrative experience with student activities.
  • Ability to effect innovation and change.
