General Assistant/Program Coordinator - Part-time

Responsibilities:
The Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering Information and Technology is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a General Assistant/Program Coordinator to support the department and one of our grant-funded programs. Position is part-time (19.5 hours per week). Position requires in-person work on the UMBC campus. Hours are Monday - Friday during standard business hours. Flexible schedule available. In this role, you will support faculty members, students and staff with a variety of essential tasks, including:
- Coordinating program events and activities
- Organizing the application process
- Participating in the application review process
- Monitoring program expenditures, including scholar tuition remission and stipend distribution
- Administering scholars’ professional development funds
- Developing and distributing marketing materials for the SFS and DOD CySP programs
- Serve in office as the front desk point of contact
- Answer phones, email and respond to general inquiries
- Assist with office supplies inventory, ordering, restocking, and distribution
- Maintain the department calendars
- Coordinate mail and packages for delivery and pick up
- Monitor room access requests and permissions
- Monitor conference room schedules and assist with reservations
- Coordinate room readiness including seating, resets and materials
- Posts announcements as directed
- General in office duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in administrative/clerical, customer support, or related area.
- Proficient with computers and basic office technology
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in procurement or related areas
- Ability to quickly learn new tools
- Customer service-oriented with a positive approach to working with students
Salary:
Hourly Salary Range: Minimum: $19 to Maximum: $25, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is a temporary position. Initial contract is for 1 year with the possibility of renewal.
