Position Details
The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors for General Chemistry I/II Laboratory.
Responsibilities will include:
- Teach one or more 3-hour General Chemistry I or II Laboratories per week for a semester. Experiments follow the laboratory manual prepared by the chemistry faculty.
- Explain safety procedures, the experiments and expectations for each lab.
- Assist students with the experimental procedures and data collection.
- Create syllabus each semester using guidelines provided by department.
- Provide office hours for students.
- Manage online learning management system (Canvas) in consultation with the General Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry or related field or equivalent will be considered but a graduate degree in chemistry or a related field will be given preference.
- Experience teaching General Chemistry I/II laboratory.
