Scope of Job:
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine (UTRGV SOM) is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible General Surgeon for a non-tenure track appointment in the Department of Surgery. The position is full time with the UTRGV SOM General Surgery residency program. Responsibilities will include practicing general surgery throughout the Rio Grande Valley in hospital/outpatient settings and the supervision and teaching of medical students and residents. DaVinci robotic surgery certification and Bariatric Surgery competency are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
MD degree with Board Certification in General Surgery or board eligible and completion of an ACGME residency program. Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
Board Certified / Board Eligible General Surgeon, must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License, completion of an ACGME residency program

Preferred Qualification:
DaVinci robotic surgery certification and Bariatric Surgery competency are preferred
