Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Director of Graduate & Professionals Admission, coordinate and manage domestic and international graduate & professionals admission and recruitment activities. Conduct admission interviews and facilitate the admission process for prospective graduate and professionals students.
Representative Duties:
- Perform accurate data entry of prospective student and applicant information into the SLATE CRM system and Ellucian Colleague database system.
- Drive and fly to various cities and make presentations at information meetings and exhibits; participate in college fairs. E
- Evaluate domestic and international transcripts, interpret transfer course equivalencies, advise students on core requirements and available emphasis/majors. E
- Conduct admission interviews and counseling for prospective students. E
- Promptly and accurately respond to inquiries from prospective domestic and international prospects and applicants via email and phone regarding application status, admissions process, graduate programs and related matters. E
- Plan, implement and participate in marketing strategies that support enrollment targets. Host information sessions, orientations and receptions as necessary. E
- Collaborate with academic program directors, chairs, deans, and specialists. E
- Develop routine letters and other correspondence as needed. E
- Interpret and explain financial aid policies and opportunities. E
- Communicate with university personnel and others to coordinate activities and programs. E Resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information. E
- Maintain confidential admission files and enrollment records. E
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends. E
- Provide work direction and training to assigned staff. E
- Attend staff and various meetings as assigned and as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Of:
- Laws, codes, ethics regulations, policies and procedures related to assigned activities.
- Computer and academic computer systems applicable to admissions and record-keeping.
- Counseling methods and skills.
- Interviewing techniques.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills, using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability To:
- Plan and coordinate admission and recruitment activities.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist in developing various publications and other materials.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Make presentations to large audiences.
- Interpret, apply and explain rules, policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain cooperation and effective working relationships with others.
- Operate a computer and assigned office equipment.
- Meet time lines.
- Plan and organize work.
- Work independently with little direction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in counseling, recruitment, client development, public relations, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Experience working with a CRM and/or student information system, such as SLATE or Datatel Colleague.
- Knowledge of Ventura County and surrounding area.
- University admissions experience
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver's license
Physical Abilities:
Detect to understand appropriate written correspondence; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; communicate to exchange information in person, in writing, on the telephone and by email; stationary position for extended periods of time; move or transport light objects; position self to store and/or retrieve files
