Student Social Media Ambassadors, University of Maryland, School
of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy Office of Communications and Marketing is
seeking two federal work-study students to serve as Social Media
Ambassadors (Program Administration). Social Media Ambassadors
create engaging social media content that highlights student life,
academic programs, and School events by capturing photos and
videos. Ambassadors collaborate with the communications and
marketing team to develop content ideas, support social media
campaigns, and create authentic student-focused content. They also
work with student organizations to promote events and initiatives
and help showcase the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy
through student storytelling. Applicants should have an interest in
content creation, be familiar with social media platforms and
current trends, and be comfortable using design and editing tools
such as Canva to create engaging digital content

COMPENSATION: $15 - $19/ per hour.
OTHER:
- Selected candidates are required to participate in an interview
and may be required to participate in a demonstration
session.
This position is NOT eligible for remote work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and assist in producing engaging content, including
photos, videos/Reels, and captions, for platforms such as Instagram
and Facebook, highlighting student life and School events.
- Attend and document student organization events to capture and
create dynamic social media content.
- Promote campus life by showcasing student groups, student
achievements, and academic programs at the School.
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to
brainstorm and implement new social media content ideas.
- Conduct research on current social media trends and assist in
developing trend-driven content.
- Utilize Canva and similar tools to design and create visually
appealing social media posts.
- Assist in writing captions and composing alternative text to
ensure accessibility for all posts.
- Partner with student organizations to plan and produce
collaborative social media projects.
- Maintain ongoing communication with student organization
leaders to stay informed about upcoming events and
initiatives.
- Support marketing initiatives by increasing visibility of the
School's social media channels, promoting campaigns and events, and
encouraging student participation in digital engagement
opportunities.
- Ability to attend and work select campus events, including
occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
Qualifications :
- Must be enrolled as a current student at UMB/USM in good
standing.
- Must be eligible for federal work-study.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess an interest in content creation, photography,
videography, and digital storytelling.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the
ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and best
practices, particularly Instagram and Facebook.
- Experience using Canva or similar design and editing
software.
- Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, staff, and
prospective students in a professional manner.
