Graduate Teaching Fellow in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The Graduate Teaching Fellow will support the provision of teaching, student support and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate level within the Electrical and Electronics Subject Group in the Engineering department.

You will provide support to academic staff in the delivery of Learning and Teaching on large Engineering modules. Support academic colleagues by assisting them with the set-up of a Guided Learner Journey, Assessments, Groupworks, Module Feedback and with technology and activities in the classroom and online. You will assist with supervision of research project work and support research activities.

You will coordinate and lead practical sessions where appropriate and ensure accurate and correct completion of programme-related teaching and learning administration in full compliance with legal, professional and University requirements.

You will support student engagement activities within the department and support departmental activities such as open days, whilst ensuring work is in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, health and safety, data protection, copyright and licensing, security, financial and other University procedures and codes of conduct, where appropriate.

Experience in supporting learning and teaching or relevant activities in UK Higher Education settings is essential for this post, whilst having experience of using digital and interactive educational resources. You will need to have a demonstrable ability to support students in Electronics and Digital Systems and across a broad range of core and applied areas of Electronic Systems Engineering in both lectures and practical sessions.

You will hold excellent numerate, literate and IT Skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines. The ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality and excellent interpersonal skills is also essential.

You will have an understanding of Learning and Teaching requirements in Higher Education. It will be beneficial if you have experience in working with education providers and academics in supporting blended learning (or similar) materials. In addition, applicants will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English Language.

You will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or other cognate subject relevant to the discipline.
