Job Responsibilities

The Grants Accountant manages Federal, State, and private grants. Reconciliation of all financial aid accounts in the college's financial system. Responsible for financial compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and the college's policies and procedures. Perform and coordinate complex professional duties in creating and maintaining restricted fund accounting records, verifying and documenting specified fund financial transactions, and assisting in preparing and managing restricted account budgets.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field and professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in grants and other restricted fund financial management is preferred. The ideal candidate will have senior-level accounting experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing are essential for the success of this position. Candidate must have a working knowledge of automated accounting systems, specifically data input and internal controls, an understanding of data processing and integration related to financial reporting, and supervisory experience in a financial environment. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and a moderate competency with Microsoft Excel are necessary. Knowledge of judgments regarding compliance with these regulations. Experience in developing and implementing financial control systems is also preferred. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
