Department of Construction Management and Intelligence
The Department is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Construction and Environment, which offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science. It has an undergraduate student body of over 600 full-time students and a postgraduate student body of over 300. The Department currently has a total of 30 full-time academic / teaching staff, 20 technical and administrative staff and over 100 research personnel.
Job Functions
The position calls for a visionary academic leader with responsibilities of ensuring the smooth and successful operation and sustainable development of the Department. Reporting directly to the Dean of Faculty of Construction and Environment, the appointee will be required to provide effective leadership in the development of long-term strategies and plans of the Department; ensure high-quality teaching; facilitate innovative research; provide leadership in technology development; develop partnerships; enhance networks; ensure effective communication; ensure optimal deployment of resources; implement mechanisms to acquire donations; and undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should have academic qualifications at the doctoral level; attainment of an academic rank of full professor or above; a distinguished international reputation in research; a strong record in attracting research funding; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching; proven qualities of academic leadership; effective interpersonal skills; good knowledge of the higher educational environment; and a high standard of personal integrity.
