Brief Statement of Duties
Direct, organize, coach and administer the women's lacrosse program.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: NCAA learning portal proficiency, or passing within one month of hire. Possess a current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Demonstrated successful lacrosse coaching experience as a head coach or an assistant coach at the professional level, the NCAA Division I, II or III level, or as a head coach at the NAIA, junior college or high school level. No prior involvement with NCAA major rules violations. On- and off-campus recruiting of student-athletes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties
- Knowledge of NCAA, conference and NMU compliance rules.
- Strong leadership abilities to mentor and develop student athletes.
- Ability to use various computer software applications including video editing systems.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to assess situations, identify problems, and implement solutions.
- Ability to work effectively under stressful and high-pressure situations.
- Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, administrators, college faculty and staff, alumni, professional colleagues, and the general public.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Collegiate lacrosse playing experience.
- Master's Degree.
