Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Health Technician II for the RSH Hurtado Health Center. The Health Tech II reports directly to the Nurse Supervisor.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Provides direct health care support to the patients in collaboration with the other healthcare team members.
• Facilitates patient care and prepares patients for visits.
• Assists clinicians with procedures.
• Administers vaccines.
• Performs office tests and procedures as requested by clinicians.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High school/vocational school education and at least one (1) year of related paid experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Equipment Utilized:

• Use of Computer.
• Electronic Medical Records (MEDICAT), EKG machine.
• CLIA waived Laboratory Testings (Urinalysis, Rapid Strep, Rapid flu).
• Blood Pressure cuff, thermometer, and scale.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift patients, push wheelchairs/stretchers and move from desk to exam room on a recurrent basis.
• May involve evening hours.
• May require floating to two satellite health centers.
