Hoogleraar Computergestuurde Diagnostiek en Behandeling

ACTA and Amsterdam UMC are seeking a professor in the field of computer-guided diagnostics and treatment. As a professor, you will focus on optimizing treatment and outcomes through technology in research, education, and patient care. This involves conducting science to develop new computer-guided treatment methods, improving the quality of existing treatments, and expanding their application in dentistry and medicine.

Your tasks include:

  • Research: Conducting your own research on technological innovation and valorization, and supporting clinical-technological research in collaboration with partners within ACTA and Amsterdam UMC. You will play a key role in developing and applying digital medicine and dentistry for diagnostics, planning, training, and patient care, embedded in the department of Oral Diseases, Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Education: Coordinating, developing, and providing (continuing) education on computer-guided treatments for dentistry and medical faculties. This aims to contribute to a new generation of practitioners aware of this rapidly evolving field. You will renew existing education and shape new dental and medical education.
  • Patient care and management: Serving as a bridge between technology and care, and between research and treatment. You will position computer-guided diagnostics and treatment nationally and internationally, both academically and in the broader oral care field. Additionally, you will lead collaborations within and outside ACTA and manage the 3D Lab staff.

Requirements:

  • You are a PhD holder, preferably a BIG-registered physician, dentist, or clinical technologist, and meet most of the following criteria:
  • Extensive expertise in computer-guided diagnostics and treatment, with the ability to quickly adopt new technologies.
  • Able to scientifically validate the added value and cost-effectiveness of innovations for clinical implementation.
  • Research experience demonstrated by publications, grants, and recognitions.
  • Proven ability to bridge and organize multidisciplinary collaborations, with experience in technology-oriented groups.
  • Track record in valorization through public-private partnerships.
  • Proven ability to attract funding to ensure research continuity.
  • Nationally and internationally recognized in new technologies within dentistry.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with innovative digital education methods, and interest in developing them.
  • Able to initiate multidisciplinary collaborations in education, care, and research within and outside ACTA and Amsterdam UMC.

Employment conditions:

  • Salary between €7,202 and €10,441 gross per month for a full-time position, based on the UFO profile Professor 2.
  • At least 0.8 FTE contract for an initial period of 1 year.
  • Additional benefits include 232 vacation hours per year for a full-time 38-hour workweek, 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, ABP pension scheme, and options for personal development.
