Job Profile: Outreach Program Coordinator
Job Summary:
This grant-funded position for three years, supports the Horticulture Extension Educator in delivering the UW–Madison Digital Badge courses Gardening 101 and Greenhouse Training 101 for participants at the Sturtevant Transitional facility. The role includes coordinating all aspects of program delivery, maintaining effective communication between the transitional facility staff and Extension Educator, and provides direct support to participants to ensure successful completion of the coursework.
County Location
The main office for this position is located at Sturtevant Transitional Facility (9351 Rayne Rd, Sturtevant, WI); however, some programming may also be conducted over a broader geographical area.
In Person
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated work location.
Travel Expectations
It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions. Read more about UW-Madison Driver Authorization.
Applicants are required to: Have a valid drivers license and a reliable source of independent transportation for periodic in-state work travel, and/or comply with requirements for UW-Madison vehicle use authorization.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
- Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development
- Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
- Schedules day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers

Compensation:
Well-qualified candidates can anticipate earning between $60,000 - $70,000. Actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.
Pro-rated Salary
This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status). At 50% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 50% of the advertised salary. Please note that some benefits such as paid time off will be prorated by appointment percentage.

Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience in adult education, administration or program support.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in horticulture, greenhouse, gardening
- Experience working in correctional, transitional, or re‑entry programs
Education:
Required Education
Associate Degree in adult education or relevant field
Preferred Education
Bachelors Degree in adult education or relevant field
