Are you a strategic HR leader who thrives on partnering with senior stakeholders to shape workforce outcomes in complex organisations?

As HR Business Partner, known locally as Manager, HR Client Partnering, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic and operational HR advice to senior leaders across a diverse portfolio. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide leaders through complex workforce matters, influence organisational priorities, and lead the delivery of high-quality, client focused HR services.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will balance strategic thinking with practical execution, translating organisational priorities into effective people strategies to deliver impactful outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic and operational HR advice, supporting workforce planning, organisational change and complex people matters.
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality HR services across your client portfolio, including facilitation of workshops and training sessions, ensuring advice is practical, compliant and aligned with University priorities.
  • Navigate and resolve complex employee relations matters, providing balanced, risk-aware guidance to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Mentor HR professionals to build capability and foster a high-performing advisory service.
  • Collaborate with specialist HR teams to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to service delivery across the University.

About You 

You are an experienced HR professional who brings strong business partnering capability, sound judgement and the confidence to advise senior leaders in complex environments.

You will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience providing senior-level HR advice within complex organisations.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, workforce strategy and organisational development.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise agreements, HR legislation and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing HR professionals to deliver high-quality services.
  • The ability to navigate complexity, competing priorities and sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgement.

Qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline are desirable, or an equivalent combination of experience and professional development.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
