Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Human Resources Support Services Manager, the Human Resources Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely data entry, data audits, reviewing documents for accuracy, and technical letter compliance. The HR QA analyst will independently perform activities required to ensure compliant and timely employment processing in the PeopleSoft CMS-HR system. Ancillary duties include providing Help Desk support for Employee Self Service, testing new software releases, and other projects as required in HR Management areas. This position will have access to confidential and sensitive employee information.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff/Faculty/Student Data Entry, POI Entry, Data Integrity, Quality Assurance, and Payroll Auditing: Provides comprehensive data processing and auditing support for staff, faculty, students, and POIs by reviewing documentation, ensuring accurate and compliant PeopleSoft entry, maintaining data integrity with Payroll, and supporting departments with onboarding and transaction needs.
- Cross‑Campus Payroll Collaboration: Supports multi‑campus payroll functions by processing leave and pay transactions, resolving discrepancies, interpreting CSU guidance, troubleshooting PeopleSoft issues, and assisting with audits and cross‑campus workflow monitoring.
- Employee Self‑Service Help Desk: Delivers timely and accurate customer support to employees using ESS by answering inquiries, assisting walk‑ins, documenting cases, and ensuring employees receive correct information about their HR data.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,799 (Step #1) - $6,992 (Step #20) per month.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to apply CSU policy and procedures, pertinent state and federal laws, and requirements of collective bargaining agreements, so as to assure data integrity of documents submitted. Basic understanding of HR and Payroll functions. Must demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and orderliness in performing work assignments. Ability to perform data entry at an appropriate rate of speed but with 100% accuracy. Demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to coordinate many different project tasks, determine relative importance of each, prioritize and set appropriate deadlines to complete all tasks accordingly.
Ability to understand technical issues of a relational database, the structure/navigation of PeopleSoft systems and use the software effectively. Good judgment and analytical skills; the ability to gather, analyze and act upon relevant information in a timely manner. Team player; ability to share responsibility and ownership for team goals and results. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to understand and take direction but work independently. Ability to use Word and other software packages used in conjunction with the system. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Two years of related experience preferred. Data entry experience is preferred.
