Job Description:
This full-time Management Confidential position serves as a key member of the Benefits and Engagement team, contributing to exceptional employee experience. This role is responsible for assisting in the administration of health benefits while also supporting engagement programs that foster a sense of belonging at the University at Albany.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with administering the university's benefit programs, including health benefits, retirement plans and voluntary savings programs.
- Maintain accurate benefit records in the SUNY HR and NYBEAS information systems, ensuring compliance, security, and data integrity.
- Support the dissemination of benefits-related information through the HR website, webinars, newsletters, and orientation sessions.
- Assist employees with health benefits enrollment, changes, and transactions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding health benefits and provide guidance on available plans.
- Assist with the graduate student employee processing during high volume periods.
- Assist with engagement initiatives, including orientation and onboarding, milestone celebrations, and wellness fairs to enhance employee retention and belonging.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports to the Health Benefits Administrator.
- Works as part of the Benefits and Engagement team.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or attainment by May 2026.
- Professional work experience delivering excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in benefits administration.
- Experience in NYS public employment, including SUNY.
- HRCI, SHRM, or related certification.
Working Environment:
- Typical office environment.
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and Salary Range: Personnel Assistant, MP, $54,000.
