We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and community minded Hub Barista to help us deliver an exceptional experience to our community. If you love working with people, enjoy creating exceptional coffee and want to be part of a supportive team, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
The role
As a key member of the Café team, you will:
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and drinks.
- Welcome and respond to queries from a diverse community of college members, students and visitors.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and allergen standards, keeping our spaces clean and inviting at all times.
- Replenish stock and help keep the café running smoothly day-to-day.
- Support colleagues by opening or closing the Café, handling transactions and providing support to other members of the team when required.
This is a varied and hands on role, perfect for someone who enjoys a lively environment and takes pride in delivering great service.
This is a variable hours’, permanent role, with some evening and weekend work to support the needs of the College. Your hours will be worked on an as required basis, meaning you will have no regular pattern of hours.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience of providing great customer service and a genuine desire to make people feel welcome
- Experience in preparing food (such as sandwiches and soups), with an understanding of food safety and hygiene allergen regulations
- Level 1 Food Safety Qualification (or equivalent experience).
- The ability to stay calm during busy periods, work flexibly, and use your initiative - both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Pay Scale: STANDARD GRADE 3
Salary: £27,534 - £28,437
