Job Description:
SUNY Schenectady invites applications for a full-time Human Services Instructor to join a collaborative, student-centered academic community. The successful candidate will teach a 15-credit course load per semester.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach undergraduate Human Services courses in a variety of formats, including in-person and online
- Develop and deliver instruction that integrates foundational theory with applied practice
- Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes student success
- Hold regular office hours and provide academic guidance to students
- Participate in departmental and college service, including assessment and committee work
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching and the human services field
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field; Prior teaching or training experience; Professional experience in a human services-related field; Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in a community college setting; Familiarity with OASAS guidelines and CASAC certification; Experience with online or technology-enhanced instruction; Relevant licensure or certification; Doctoral degree in a related field.
