Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
Maintain and service all heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and building control systems.
Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
Analyzes building automation and control systems to achieve optimal operation or energy efficiency. Will make recommendations for modifications based on analyzation of systems. Performs measurements and adjustments and repairs to DDC, electrical and pneumatic control systems. Performs preventive maintenance on building control system devices and assists in the preventive maintenance of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation equipment.
This position is designated as mandatory personnel and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions and assist with snow, ice and/or debris removal or HVAC issues in relation to adverse weather damage.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- 5 or more years documentable work experience in the controls industry.
- 5 or more years of experience in BAS installation & service as related to direct expansion & chilled/heated water HVAC systems.
- Manufacture training/certification on control systems; Tridium, Novar, York, CPC, Danfoss, etc.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic control systems.
- CFC universal certificate, types 1, 2 & 3.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and/or process automation systems is required.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot DDC sensors and control devices, including the conduit and cabling systems required.
- Ability to use a personal computer to diagnose and manipulate equipment, using Building Automation Systems.
Required Certifications or Licensures:
Valid NC drivers License, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
