Description
Summary: Responsible for overseeing maintaining, repairing and replacing commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration equipment and HVAC equipment. Performs preventive maintenance, as assigned.
Examples of Duties
- -65% Analyze, inspect, troubleshoot, install, rebuild, adjust, replace and ensure safety of commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration equipment and HVAC equipment. May include, but not limited to: walk-ins, steamers, convection ovens, dishwashers, booster heaters, warmers, exhaust hoods, serving lines, ice machines, bearings, motors, heat exchanges, air conditioner compressors, exhaust systems and chillers. Commission new kitchens and equipment. Trains and work with plumber III.
- -25% Performs major and/or minor repair, as well preventative and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Repair and maintain all low voltage, equipment voltage and controls voltages. Responsible for coordination and prioritizing repair task to respond in a timely manner and provide timely repairs and reduced downtime. Respond to emergencies in building during scheduled hours as well as afterhours, including on call for kitchen services and HVAC emergencies
- -5% Order, track, record and maintain inventory parts for commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration equipment and all HVAC equipment. Assist in management of warrantees. Communicate equipment stats and repair or replacement costs to appropriate personnel as needed.
- -5% Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's degree in HVAC or related field with completion certificates or diploma
- Formal Electrical or HVAC training and/or related military experience may be substituted for the required experience.
- Education may be substituted for experience or if experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA or 60 credit hours = 2 years experience; BA/BS or 120 credit hours = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience.
Experience:
- Four years of HVAC experience in the maintenance and repair of large HVAC and refrigeration systems in an industrial or commercial setting as a seasoned tradesperson.
- Experience with Commercial kitchen appliances and commercial refrigeration equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
Universal Recovery Certificate required.
North American Technical Excellence – HVAC Support Technician Certification required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisor 1-7 employees
Budget Responsibilities: None
Working Hours and Days:
Monday- Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, overtime available
