Advertised Job Summary
To serve as IACUC Coordinator by providing administrative support associated with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Manages the IACUC review process and participates in university activities related to the overall animal research program and its various components. Individual will work under the supervision of the IACUC Administrator. Assists the Administrator by carrying out regulatory compliance and monitoring activities related to animal research at the University. To demonstrate commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations related to vertebrate animal research. Some overnight travel may be required to attend educational events.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree and/or Certified Professional In IACUC Administration (CPIA) certification. Prefer three to four years’ relevant work experience. Knowledge of electronic protocol software.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to follow guidelines, policies, and procedures of the university, state, local and federal agencies. etc. pertaining to biomedical research. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills (setting priorities, time management, planning and follow-up). Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and management skills including the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to overcome language, cultural, and attitudinal barriers in order to communicate with all levels of faculty, students, and staff in a biomedical research setting. Professional demeanor with customer service orientation and ability to overcome potentially adversarial interactions with tact and discretion. Ability to learn new tasks and functions quickly. Must be able to travel between campuses, labs, and facilities if necessary.
