    • Customer Service: A friendly, patient demeanor when helping non-technical users navigate new technology.
    • Problem-Solving: The ability to remain calm and methodical when technology doesn't behave as expected.

Essential Functions:

1. Technical Operations & Maintenance

  • Hardware Oversight: Manage the inventory, charging, and maintenance of VR headsets, haptic equipment, and motion-capture sensors.
  • Software Updates: Ensure all Dreamscape Learn modules and supplemental software are updated and functioning across all workstations before classes begin.
  • Troubleshooting: Serve as the first line of defense for technical glitches during active lab sessions to minimize classroom downtime.
  • Content Development: Serve as the operational support to faculty when developing new content for the Dreamscape Learn classroom.

2. Logistics & Scheduling

  • Classroom/Pod Management: Manage the master calendar for the Collaboratory, balancing credit-bearing classes, open hours, and special events.
  • Supply Chain: Monitor and order necessary supplies (e.g., sanitary masks, batteries, hardware replacements).
  • Documentation: Maintain clear manuals for equipment use and safety protocols for students and guest users.

3. Team Leadership

  • Student Staffing: Recruit through Handshake for students. Collaborate with the HR department to hire students, and train a team of student workers/interns to assist with daily operations.
  • Shift Management: Coordinate student work schedules to ensure the center is adequately staffed during peak hours.

4. Data & Reporting

  • Usage Tracking: Collect and analyze data on lab utilization (e.g., foot traffic, equipment check-outs, and session durations).
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly reports for the Inaugural Director regarding equipment health and operational efficiency.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Cultural Skills: Candidates must have strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with partners in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment supporting Albertus Magnus College's mission as a student-centered, liberal arts institution. Commitment to undergraduate education and student success.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a group member in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in the theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.

Work Schedule Requirements:

This position is primarily on-site and requires occasional evening hours to support scheduled classes.

Benefits:

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
