Join the Transforming Oxford’s Digital Communications Programme, based in the IT Services team at the University of Oxford, and help shape how digital communications are delivered across our world-leading institution.

About Us

IT Services is a central department that supports the entire University in achieving its academic and research goals through the innovative use of technology. Within IT Services, the Programme and Projects Delivery Group (PPDG) brings together specialists in programme and project management, business analysis, testing, training, communications, and change management to ensure the effective delivery of digital initiatives across the University.

What We Offer

  • 38 days of annual leave (inclusive of public holidays) to support your wellbeing, with the option to purchase up to 10 extra days and additional leave after long service.
  • One of the most generous family leave schemes in UK higher education, offering up to 26 weeks of full-pay maternity and adoption leave, plus 12 weeks of full-pay paternity/partner leave.

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme.
  • Affordable and sustainable commuting options, including a cycle loan scheme, discounted bus travel, and season ticket loans.

About the Role

The University of Oxford is embarking on a significant digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing its digital communications. As part of the Transforming Oxford’s Digital Communications Programme, we are looking for Implementation Officers to play a key role in supporting the University's transition to modern, secure, and scalable digital platforms.

You will be part of the Business Change Team and assigned to the Migration Project, which is responsible for migrating digital content from over 1,000 Drupal 7-based websites to new platforms: OxWeb, Fresco, and OxIntranet.

Your work will focus on stakeholder engagement, coordinating migrations, and ensuring a smooth and well-supported transition for content owners across the collegiate University. You’ll work closely with the Migration Project Manager, Business Change colleagues, and support teams to help deliver a successful and timely migration for content owners spanning staff and students.

The role offers an opportunity to make a real difference to the way Oxford’s digital communications are set up to be fit for the future, while being part of a team spanning communications and IT professionals.

About You

You will be an effective communicator, confident in engaging with, negotiating, and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders across the University.

You will be highly organised, with the ability to coordinate multiple project activities while keeping user experience and stakeholder impact at the forefront.

Experience in digital content migration, website platforms, and digital communications would be advantageous, though not essential.

Application Process

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.

The closing date for applications is Monday 22 September at 12:00 noon.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 1 October and take place in person in central Oxford.
