Position Description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seattle University invites applications for a one-year, full-time term faculty position at the rank of Instructor, beginning in September 2025. Seattle University fosters a culture that values excellence in teaching and meaningful engagement with students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both teaching and service within the department. Primary teaching responsibilities will include a range of undergraduate electrical and computer engineering lecture and laboratory courses, such as Physical Computing with Python/C++, Microprocessor Design, Embedded Systems, junior-level labs, Electrical Energy Systems, and a senior elective course (ideally with a hardware focus). In addition, the instructor may be asked to advise student teams on a three-quarter, industry-sponsored senior design project. Specific course assignments will be determined based on the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.

The undergraduate electrical engineering and computer engineering programs are ABET-accredited and support the University's mission of educating the whole person, professional formation, and empowering leaders for a just and humane world. Qualifications

MS in engineering, preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
